We hope everyone has enjoyed being back out on the course and the feedback from members has been very positive. The course is in terrific shape and the pace of play has been very good. Council reviewed the first few days play and feel that it is appropriate to reduce back to 8 minute intervals. Members have expressed the viewpoint that there has been plenty space between players. The plus side is that more tee times are available per day. We will keep the booking details under constant review.
I enclose the booking details and format which I ask every member to read carefully.
The bookings for the upcoming week Friday 12th June- Thursday 18th June will open tomorrow (Wednesday 10th June) at 8.00am. As you will be aware the tee bookings have been extremely busy due to the limitations of playing in two balls. It seems clear that there is plenty of space on the golf course and rounds have been taking around 3 hours to complete. To increase the capacity we have decided to move to 8 minute intervals which will free up around 280 additional rounds and help to relax the pressure.
There was some confusion last week when we opened the bookings and many people didn’t follow the correct procedure so to clarify the rules please follow the procedure set out below.
Bookings for the full week Friday- Thursday will open tomorrow(Wednesday 10th June)
(Bookings will Open at 8am and Close at 7pm each day. Checks will be made to ensure conformance with rules)
Tomorrow everyone will have the opportunity to book one round for 1 or 2 players* (*both players names must be entered, please don’t enter player 2 as ‘member with’ as we need both names for track and trace records. To make it clear if you book for 2 players that counts as having used both booking allowance for that day. You can only make 1 booking on Wednesday.
On the next day (Thursday 11th) everyone will have the opportunity to book a 2nd round for that week.
On day 3 (Friday 12th) everyone will have the opportunity to book 1 further round
The same procedure will be in place for each day.
Bookings can be made online through the normal BRS procedure or by calling the Professional Shop.
Our intention through adopting this system was to provide everyone with the opportunity to get some golf over the week, the system will allow this to happen if everyone follows the rules. Anyone found to be deliberately flouting the procedure may be excluded from booking for the following week.
Please all remember to follow the protocols in place regarding social distancing and safety on the course and around the clubhouse. I hope you continue to enjoy the lovely playing conditions and please stay safe.
