I know from feedback you are enjoying playing golf again on our great golf course.
I am also mindful there will be some members that continue to shield / are isolated or are shielding others as they have COVID19 symptoms. I hope you and your family continue to be safe & well and look forward to welcoming you back when you are available to play again.
As a reminder for all members, please do no access the course if you
- Are displaying any COVID19 symptoms
- Are waiting on test results for COVID19.
- Have been advised you have tested positive for COVID19
- Have been asked to self isolate for up to 14 days
- Have recently returned to the country from abroad (isolate for 14 days)
- Are shielding
I have also reiterated some key points below relating to your continued golf return below.
I can also advise we will issue further guidelines when Scottish Government decide to move to Phase 2 of their roadmap.
Tee-times are to be managed and booked in advance and will be available from 6.30 a.m. through until 8pm.
All golfers must tee off from 1st tee, not from any other area of the course. (with exception of Juniors who will be provided with early morning tee times starting on 13th hole to play the back 6)
There will be no casual walk on play as all clubs have been asked to keep tee timesheets for a period of at least 6 weeks to assist with contact tracing should the need arise. Rab has been given the authority to ask members to leave the course if golfing before the first available booking time of 6.30 a.m. Please respect this.
I recognise you will all be keen to get back on the course as soon as possible and I hope that we have found a mechanism which ensures everyone who wishes to play have the opportunity to do so. The effectiveness of this booking procedure relies on the reasonableness of all our members. Please remember we are trying to make sure everyone gets the opportunity to play.
With two balls as a maximum – the number of rounds available in a week are halved.
I appreciate we have a mix of members that are retired / furloughed and generally will be able to play during the day and others that are working. To help cope with the anticipated increased demand for play it would be appreciated if those who can play midweek during the day to do so and leave weekend and evening slots available for members who are working.
Booking a Time
It is accepted that members are very keen to get back out playing golf. A decision was taken to allow members to book 7 days in advance which is a change to the normal way of booking.
- On Wednesdays we respectfully request members only book for one game of golf from Friday thru to Thursday following week
(This will give every member of the club the chance to get a game)
- On Thursdays you may book another game of golf if tee times are available.
- On Fridays and daily thereafter – you can continue to book 1 further game if tee times are available.
Any member calling to book a tee time please call the pro-shop only on 01506 630 553
If need to cancel a time, please do so as soon as possible so others have the opportunity to use that time.
Bookings will be monitored to ensure that the rules are complied with. Let’s all follow the rules and be fair to everyone.
We anticipate this process may be required for an initial period until larger numbers of players can play in each group. At that time, we will return to our standard booking procedure.
Practise Nets and Putting Green (Next To Tee 1)
Will be open for members with tee times booked. To be used for 2 min. approx. before commencement of round and social distancing of 2m observed at all times.
In this current Phase, the practise range, short game, pitching area and main putting green will remain closed except for pre-booked lessons with the Pro. In addition, the Clubhouse and toilet facilities will remain closed. Updates on when they will open will be communicated as we move through the relevant phases.
Juniors (single figure handicap)
All juniors aged 14 or over or younger juniors with a single figure handicap can book a tee time with same rules that apply to adult members. Juniors will still be limited by the playing time restrictions as set out in the club diary.
Juniors (handicap above single figures)
All other Juniors who have a handicap can play 6 holes, starting from the 13th tee between 7.30 and 8.30am with 10 minute intervals (Allows space for 14 Juniors every day played as 2 balls).
This means that all will be able to play 3 times a week.
Each child in this category would be asked for an adult household member to accompany them.
The accompanying adult will be asked to record their presence to assure that contact tracing can be done if required in the future.
This will help you understand our Club’s approach to safe opening.
Note: there are no dates or timelines on each phase, these are a guide and we will move to each phase when we feel it is safe to do so. The safety of our staff and customers is of the upmost importance during these times
We would ask that you adhere to the protocols outlined below.
Note: Subsequent to this document production it was confirmed by Scottish Golf that toilets facilities should not be opened.
